Equip Prepares Middle School Students for the Successful Transition to High School

Grades 6 through 8 are vital years for students to grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually as they prepare for the high school years to follow. Equip Christian Academy provides a faith-based, personalized, and self-paced educational program for our middle school students, that focuses on the whole individual.  In addition to academics, our middle school also provides opportunities for socialization, service, and academic extra help that are so critical to this age group.  Our school provides students the opportunity to choose between different types of curricula that will best fit their individual learning style.    Curriculum choices include textbooks, online courses, or a blend of both textbook and online instruction.  All curriculum options are both easy to use and engaging for students.

Additionally, families can decide to use parents in the role of traditional homeschool teacher for their courses, or they can use our certified and highly-skilled teachers to assist with curriculum instruction, pacing, and grading.  Our teachers will work closely with students and families to monitor progress each month and ensure success while providing the constructive feedback designed to help students learn and achieve success.

In Middle School, families can expect their students to take classes each year in the areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies, with an option for religion.  Additionally, students will have the opportunity to expand their academic interests through a large selection of electives or even challenge themselves to earn high school level credits in grades 7 and 8 math and language courses.  Equip Middle School families can expect to finish their classes well-prepared intellectually and spiritually for their high school careers.

Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

Path Options:

Z

Digital Path

In this path, students will use our online digital curriculum in an easy-to-understand format where they can work at their own pace within the parameters of the class calendar.  Families can choose to have teachers support, guide, and grade in this system, or the parent can take on this role. Full-time students using our teachers are additionally supported by a success coach that will monitor student progress in all courses, assist with any needs or concerns, and meet monthly with parents.  Full-time families who choose to use parents as teachers will have the support of an Education Guide who will monitor student’s progress and conduct a monthly “check-in” with the family.

Z

Print-based Program Path

In this path, students will use textbooks from the LIFEPAC curriculum and parents will serve the role of teacher.  The textbooks come in the easy-to-use form of workbooks that are broken up into smaller lessons to encourage student sense of success.  Full-time students will be provided with an Education Guide who will help families set up a pacing plan and oversee student progress.  Students will submit required work samples along the way and their Education Guide will document the progress of the student using the work samples and a digital tracking system.

At Equip, students will be able to use either of these options or a combination of both! Click here for full details.

Beyond the Classroom:

All middle school students will have the opportunity to take part in programs that reflect a Christian-based value system in safe spaces.  These opportunities will include service, community, and leadership through participation in optional clubs, homerooms, and other school activities led and supervised by Equip teachers, guides, and coaches.
