As December comes to a close, families naturally begin to reflect on the past year and think ahead to the next. For students at Equip Christian Academy, setting faith-filled goals for the New Year is an excellent way to prepare for growth both academically and spiritually.
Parents can guide children in setting goals that honor God. These might include memorizing a new Bible verse each week, committing to daily prayer, or improving in a subject area where they’ve struggled. Families can also create vision boards with Scripture verses, inspirational quotes, and images that reflect their goals for the year ahead.
Philippians 3:13-14 encourages us, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” This verse can serve as a reminder that Christian goals are not just about achievement, but about growing closer to God and living faithfully.
December is the perfect time to look back with gratitude and look forward with hope, trusting God to guide us into a new year filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and shine His light.
